TAHOE Faces Activities
Participants of TAHOE Faces will explore the fascinating lives of prominent Americans and the historical eras in which they lived. Correlation will be made between these Americans and the ideas, struggles, sacrifices, perserverances, liberties, and justices they represent. Each year through 2010, participants will have the opportunity to participate in guided historical site visits, discussion seminars, literary circles, technology seminars, summer seminars, and thematic unit development.
From their participation, teachers in TAHOE Faces will recieve:
- At least $466 worth of materials per year, $250 of which to be used to purchase instructional materials related to the development of a thematic unit.
- Technical assistance in how to integrate technology into the classroom.
- Opportunities to present at regional, state, and national conferences (expenses paid).
- Guided practice in the development of units and lessons.
- One national historical site visit during each of two summers to see and experience significant, historical locations.
